Rob Hernquist is an associate in the Firm's Litigation Department. His practice focus is commercial and complex civil litigation including breach of business contracts, shareholder disputes, banking and real estate matters, and business torts such as fraud, unfair trade practices and misappropriation of intellectual property. He has also successfully litigated cases involving noncompete agreements, libel/defamation and Constitutional issues.
Rob is also experienced in associated procedural areas of law that are complex or nuanced such as alter-ego claims, receiverships, injunctions, claim and delivery/replevin, contempt proceedings, derivative claims, evictions, execution on judgments, and the Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act. He has significant experience in all phases of litigation, including initial factual investigation, motions practice, discovery, and trial.
Mr. Hernquist was a paralegal prior to attending law school, and continued working as a law clerk while pursuing his law degree as a part-time evening student. While in law school he also performed pro bono work for the Metropolitan Tenants Organization in Chicago, and worked as a student attorney at his school's legal clinic where he served as a guardian ad litem, presented guardianship petitions in court, and helped victims of domestic violence obtain temporary restraining orders. Rob remains strongly committed to pro bono service.
Rob was recognized by Mountain States Super Lawyers for Business Litigation in 2012 and 2013. He has an AV peer-review rating in the Martindale-Hubbell directory.
