Since 1987 Mark Goldstein has been a partner in Lionel Sawyer & Collins' Business Law
Department. With Lionel Sawyer & Collins, Mark Goldstein has practiced real estate,
business and corporate law in Las Vegas, Nevada over thirty years.
In his law practice, Mr. Goldstein organized numerous Nevada corporations,
partnerships, and limited liability companies for the ownership of property used for
hotels, casinos, and other land development operations. He assisted clients in the
acquisition, development and disposition of property. He helped clients borrow money
and sell equity interests in projects, such as planned residential communities, electrical
power plants, chemical facilities, hotels, resorts, and medical facilities. Mark Goldstein
has written contracts and given legal advice for many types of land development
Early in his career Mark Goldstein participated in a number of municipal bond
transactions including the Southern California Edison Company Project, Clark County,
Nevada; Adjustable Tender Pollution Control Revenue Bonds, Series 1987A and 1988A;
California Health Facilities Financing Authority Insured Health Facility Revenue Bonds.
At that time he was appointed to the Clark County School District Bond Oversight
For over ten years, he has held a Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Rating of AV
Preeminent (4.5-5.0). Mark Goldstein's Peer Review Rating has been described on the
web site of Martindale-Hubbell® as "a significant rating accomplishment- a testament to
the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional
excellence." In the 2012 edition of Chambers USA®, his many years of experience were
summarized as working on "property and development issues for an array of clients,
including, corporations, partnerships and limited liability corporations."
Mark Goldstein has been recognized for his success in The Best Lawyers in America® ,
the respected peer-review publication of the legal profession, where he has been listed in
the practice area of Real Estate Law for over twenty years. In 2012, The Best Lawyers in
America® named Mark H. Goldstein as "Las Vegas Best Lawyers Real Estate Law
Lawyer of the Year." In addition, he has consistently been named as a SuperLawyer in
real estate law in both the Nevada and Mountain State SuperLawyers publications
annually since 2007. In 2009 Mark Goldstein was listed by the NEVADA BUSINESS
MAGAZINE as one of the Top 100 Attorneys in Nevada.
In the 2008 edition of Chambers USA® he was described with the comment that "Mark
Goldstein moves up the rankings as "a talented, experienced and hard-working lawyer"
respected by peers for his skill in acquisitions and development matters." When Mr.
Goldstein was recognized by Chambers USA® in the section on Corporate/Commercial
lawyers he received the comment "Mark Goldstein likewise receives praise for his
corporate and real estate work. "A meticulously good drafter," he works on big gaming
deals, as well as financings." He was also recognized in the 2013 edition of Chambers USA.
In a 1996 issue of The American Lawyer, he was noted for leading Lionel Sawyer &
Collins to the largest share junk bond issues in the United States. In the Nevada Business
Journal (October 1998), he was mentioned for leadership in representation of hospitals.
The National Law Journal (January 1999) sought Mr. Goldstein's opinion on the
evaluation of New York lawyers in business transactions. In Canada, the February 2003
issue of Lexpert, The Business Magazine For Lawyers noted Mark Goldstein's work for
Fireworks Entertainment Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CanWest Entertainment Inc.
in the securing of a $172 million stand-alone corporate credit facility from a syndicate led
by Comerica Bank-California.
In addition to his daily practice, Mark Goldstein is considered an expert on Nevada law,
having written Nevada legislation concerning regulation of corporate finance and
financial institutions. The Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau Publications office has
featured his endorsement of the Nevada Law Library on CD quoting his comment that the
CD version of Nevada law is: "fastest access to the complete body of Nevada law you can
