Reported Cases

Corbello v. DeVito et al., 832 F.Supp. 2d 1231 (D. Nev. 2011), successfully obtaining summary judgment for defendants Frankie Valli, Robert Gaudio and the writers and producers of the 2006 Best Musical Tony Award® Winner, Jersey Boys: The Story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The award-winning Broadway musical portrays the rags-to-riches story of how four blue-collar kids became one of the great successes in pop music history. The plaintiff claimed an interest in an autobiography of Tommy DeVito, a former member of The Four Seasons and alleged that Jersey Boys copied expression from the autobiography. This complex case addressed some contemporary legal issues concerning domestic copyright law, as well as copyright laws of the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.
A.I. Credit Corp. v. Gohres, 299 F.Supp. 2d 1156 (D.Nev. 2004), obtaining multimillion dollar summary judgment for A.I. Credit Corp. where the promissory note had been destroyed.
